Finally Home

Well, it has been awhile but there is just so much going on these days that I forgot to update everyone. Also, reception out here is much much different that it was in mommy's belly. Anywho, mommy and daddy had everything ready for me when I got home. Uncle Justin, Mimi, Poppi, Grandma Nancie were all waiting for me when I got home. There were balloons, and food, and this stuff called wine which seemed to make everybody get along better.
I had my first bath today, I was not the biggest fan. It was cold, and wet, and my hair got all unstyled. I worked for 9 months on that hairdo, poof, gone. More to come later.

Welcome!

Well I am finally here!! Sorry it has taken me so long to write to all of you but i have been quite busy with meeting all of my family and friends. We had a hard time getting me here but I am here now!!! Mom was in labor for just over 12 hours when the doctor decided that I just wasn't cooperating!! They said that my head was probably facing the wrong way and that I just wouldn't drop down into the birth canal. So after lots of contractions and nothing happening, the doctor let us know that they were going to go in and get me themselves. So off mom went to the operating room to have her belly ripped opened to get me! And then at 7:15pm, I was finally born!! They whisked me away and dad got to take some pictures and meet me. I didn't actually get to be held by my mom until much later that evening because she and I had to recover from our ordeal. So we finally got to come home after a lot of recovering by mom. However, i was looking a tad jaundice so they had me go to the doctor the next day to make sure everything was okay. We found out that my level was quite high and now they are making me be wrapped up in this UV light blanket to make sure that I am not as yellow! But other than that, I am doing well and can't wait to meet everyone!!

Well everyone, it is about that time that we have all been waiting for!! Mommy leaves for the hospital this afternoon at 4:30 to begin my entrance into this world. I'm super excited. Last night, the doctor let mommy and daddy go out to one last nice romantic dinner before my arrival. It sounded like they had a lot of fun and mommy was so happy to get out of the house and off the sofa! Today they are taking my furry sister to the kennel ( mom is certain that she is going to cry when dropping her off-- the puppy dog doesn't understand how her life is about to change drastically with a little baby brother!) Grandma is coming today to go to the hospital with mommy and daddy and enjoy a wonderful cafeteria dinner at the hospital ( yummy...). Then she will come back to our house and come back to the hospital EARLY tomorrow morning to begin all of this! She will be one of the first faces that i see, I'm so excited!!! Grandma and Grandpa Leach are coming tomorrow afternoon to meet me and stay for awhile. Grandma and Grandpa Garth are coming tomorrow afternoon after work to meet me and hopefully bring mom a nice special treat from Westhampton bakery! Aunt Monica and Aunt Sarah are also going to stop by on Tuesday and be one of the firsts to greet me! I'm just so excited to see everyone and be a part of this big family!
Well i better go finish my last bit of packing and saying goodbye to my home in here...it has been such a nice place to live for the past 9 months. I hope to see everyone soon and pray that mom and i have a safe and happy delivery!!!

I'm coming!!!!

Mommy and daddy went to the doctor today and they have scheduled my arrival date!!! Mommy will be going into the hospital on Monday evening ( November 3) and they will do some things to get her going and give her a nice big sleeping pill to get through the busy night in a hospital. Then early in the morning on tuesday ( November 4) they will start giving her this drug called Pitocin that will start forcing me to come out!!! So basically, i will be arriving on November 4th! When on November 4th, will be determined by me! So I'm getting excited and trying to do all the rest of my growing and such in the next week so I'm big and healthy when I come out and meet all of you. So stop by and see me at St. Mary's hospital on Tuesday evening or Wednesday, I can't wait to meet evereyone!!!

Well we had a little false alarm this morning! Mommy woke up and she just wasn't feeling "right". And the doctor says that when a pregnant lady doesn't feel "right" then something probably isnt right! Mom had a really bad headache and she was having problems with her eyes and focusing on things. The doctor said these could be signs of something bad with her blood pressure. So she called dad and dad came home and decided that they should go to the hospital. We got to the hospital and got all hooked up and of course everything looked fine again. Mom's blood pressure was good, her blood was good, etc. When we got there, the nurse had told us that if something didn't look "right", they would have gotten me out today. But since everything looked good, they sent home a very frustrated and disappointed pregnant lady. We have a doctors appointment tomorrow with our actual doctor and we are interested to see what she has to say. She of course, wasnt working today and we had to rely on a doctor that didn't know us! So we will keep everyone posted about whats going on but be prepared for me to be here in the next week or so!! (YAY!)

So mom has been getting quite nervous lately about my arrival. She can't believe that in two weeks I am going to be here and that she has to take care of me. Mom just let me know that Aunt Janelle won't be here for my birth...she told me that she is in this place called Wales and is there for an entire year! Mom let me know that Aunt Janelle is there and is serving God through serving the children in Wales. Although I will miss not meeting her, i know that she is being called to do this so I will forgive her! I will love her just as much as I love Aunt Joy and Uncle Justin. And i do get to see her for Christmas and a whole week at the beach so she will be in charge of all diaper changes for that week!
Grandma is here for a few days to take care of us. She just put my new swing together that she got me and she is now doing our laundry and cleaning our house. Mom is so grateful for having all these people around to help her and dad out. Only a few more weeks and I will be out to meet everyone!!

Back to the doctor we went today. Mommy's pressure was pretty high but since dad has been taking it at home and it has been normal, the doctor let her come home and not go into the hospital ( PHEW!). The doctor told us that we are going to schedule a time for me to come out the week of November 3rd...so everyone must clear their schedules so you can meet me! The doctor says that I am doing quite well and she is not worried at all about taking me out early. Since I'm 6 pounds already ( 75th percentile), she has no concerns. She says that I may have a little more difficult breastfeeding ( whatever that is) and more of a chance of having jaundice but nothing to fret about! So mommy's back at home on the couch going crazy so stop by and see her cause she desperately needs some entertaining!

Update

We went to the doctor again on Friday and Mom's blood pressure is getting better. The doctor seems to think that the bedrest is helping so that's good news. I had some tests done on me as well...they listened to my heartbeat for about a half an hour and made sure that there were not any big dips or anything. I hate that thing they put on me....i have to run to the other side of my home in here to get away from it but I am running out of room and can't move from it!!! My heartbeat goes up very high when i get all excited and move around...but the doctor says that is normal in little active boys. She keeps calling me a wild baby because i move around so much. So all the tests came back well and the doctor says that she will keep me in here for a few more weeks...argh, i want to come out NOW! I am measuring in at almost six pounds so my space is pretty much non-existent! We go back on Monday to get my picture again to check all this liquidy stuff around me and make sure that there is enough for me. So pray for mommy cause she is getting SUPER tired of laying all around and not being able to do things her way. But she has had great help from dad, grandma and grandpa leach and grandma ( and from some wonderful, God sent cleaning ladies)!!!! See everyone soon!

Another update! We went to the doctor's again today and they took my picture yet again. They said on Friday that they thought the fluid around me was low but today everything looked perfect! Mom and Dad got a great picture of me looking at the camera...I've got mom's chubby cheeks she says! We then went to talk to the doctor and mom got her blood pressure done again. Once again it was a high but not as high as Friday which is good news. So the doctor instructed mom to go back on bedrest and come back on Thursday for more tests. She said we will be coming twice a week now until I'm here. The doctor also said that I would be forced to come at 38 weeks so mark your calendars everyone, I'm coming early!!! Mom is pretty happy about that cause that means I will be around for this thing called Thanksgiving... whatever that is.

Oh dear....

Well today's doctors appointment was just as bad as the last one. Mom's pressure was still high...so they took us up to this weird floor of the hospital called labor and delivery and mom got all strapped down with lots of bells and whistles and i got this really annoying thing poking into my space. They took mommy's blood pressure every 10 minutes and of course it was perfectly fine. They also gave me some tests and also took pretty pictures of me...and I am doing just great. The doctor said I was a "wild baby" cause i moved around so much. However, they did seem to think that there was low fluid around me. So they let mom come home...thank goodness, i was afraid we were going to have to stay there for a long time. But mom was put on strict bed rest--she can only get up to pee! So dad, grandparents, aunts, and friends are going to have to take care of us for awhile!! Good thing we have such strong support! We love our families and friends! Anyways, we go back on Monday to check us out again -- hopefully everything will be okay because I don't want to spend the rest of my time in this uterus in a hospital room with hospital food!!!! EW!

Well yesterday's doctors appointment did not go as well as we all would have hoped. The doctor told mommy that her blood pressure went up a lot in the past two weeks. So that means that mom and i were put on bed rest for the next few days. We have to go back to the doctors tomorrow and they will take my picture and do some other tests just to make sure that I am doing okay. I feel just fine-- just kicking all around, waiting to get of here! Mom is on strict orders by dad to sit on the couch all day and drink a lot of water. Last night dad had to do the laundry and make dinner for mommy-- he's such a good dad. We are hoping that mommy's blood pressure will go back to normal tomorrow and that she won't have to be on bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy-- that would probably make her go insane! Mommy is telling everyone not to worry, she is pretty sure that her pressure was high because she has stopped drinking so much water because she was getting tired of waking up every half hour to pee during the night. So she is drinking lots of water and praying everything will get better. Grandma is coming today to take care of mom and make sure that she doesn't do anything because sometimes mommy likes to overdo herself. Daddy has been telling her all along that she is overdoing it but she just refuses to listen! She is so stubborn sometimes! Anyways, I don't think I will be getting many naps today since i won't be getting rocked to sleep so I will be visiting a lot with Grandma!

Busy Week!

We have had such a busy week and this next week is even more busy!! Mommy had a baby shower this past Sunday and she got lots of wonderful stuff for me! I can't wait to use it all! Then we went out to dinner with Aunt Sarah, Uncle Vinny, Cousin Avery, Great Grandmother, Great Grandfather and Grandma! It was fun ( or at least what i could hear of it was fun) -- lots of delicious food which you know i enjoyed. Tomorrow we have ANOTHER doctors appointment. I am just about 34 weeks old...my mom tells me that means that i have about 6 more weeks inside of here-- im a little stressed about all that since i already can't move so maybe I'll have to make an early appearance!!!! The doctor will decide if i should get my picture taken again-- they seem to think that I'm too big and they may need to do something about that. I mean hello!, don't you want me to be growing in here? Anywho, mom also told me that we have a class on Wednesday night called breastfeeding class-- I don't really know what that is all about. Mom tried to explain it to me but it sounds kindof strange so I will have to see about all that. Why would i want juices from another person? (Um, ew!!) But we will see how that all goes. Mom and I are going to DC this weekend for Aunt Monica's bachelorette party ( let's PARTY!!!!!!) Mom will probably be a big party booper and I won't be able to enjoy all the festivities but thats okay because Aunt Monica knows that i love her anyways! Well anyways, I guess I'll get back to my karate lessons but I will see everyone soon!

So tonight, Mom and Dad are taking an infant safety class. I guess this is probably a good idea since i am quite little and need to feel safe in my own home. The class says that they will talk about introducing me to our doggy, Abby. I have heard Abby lots of times and i recognize her bark. I also recognize her jumps when she jumps on mom ( even though she always gets yelled at when she does that.) I hope that introduction goes well and we become bestest friends because she sounds really neat. Mom has been having some serious heartburn lately...they say that means that I have a lot of hair, perhaps i do, maybe i don't, you will have to wait and see. But she has been drinking lots of milk to soothe it which i especially enjoy...Anyways...I think I'm going to go take a nap, mom is taking that doggy for a walk so that is when i do my best sleeping. New Game!!

So mommy and I have been playing this new game lately. Here is how it goes...I stick one of my appendages way out so that it makes her belly bulge. And then mom has to guess which body part it is. It really is quite a fun game even though mommy is really not very good at it. She seems to always think it is my foot, duh mom, its my elbow... Anyways, we have a doctors appointment tomorrow. ( Wohoo), can't you tell I'm excited? It will hopefully just be a routine sortof visit -- like listening to my loud, masculine heartbeat and having mom pee in a cup. I think I'm around 4 pounds right now...but the doctor will be able to really give us a good number to see how fast I'm growing. I can't really seem to get comfortable in here...I keep moving all around-- i guess i will have to start moving some of these soft squishy things around that my mom calls organs. Anyways, I'll let you know how tomorrow goes.... only 8 more weeks ( I may be changing my mind though so beware and be prepared!!!)

30 Weeks!

Once again we went to the white coated woman. Nothing really new to let you know. I'm just growing like a weed in here. However, my space seems to be getting smaller and smaller and all of my moms organs keep getting in my way. I've decided that I'm going to be a boxer when i grow up, therefore I am using my mom's organs as practice. My personal favorite is her bladder--especially when it gets big although whenever i bounce on it, mom always seems to yelp. Oh well! Anyways, the doc says I am doing well and that I'm a healthy baby. I'm hoping I'm not in here for much longer cause I'm not quite sure where i will go! Anyways, leave me some messages cause soon I won't be able to write back cause I can't move my arms!!

Third Trimester!

Mom and Dad went to that white coated woman again yesterday. Mom had to drink this delicious sugary stuff that i just LOVED. It gave me a major sugar high and I bothered mom all afternoon. They took mommy's blood and are going to make sure everything is going well with mommy and me. The doctor seems to think that I am growing too fast...they are just never happy, are they? So I may have to get more pictures taken in a few weeks to check on my size.
Mommy let me know that we are starting to go back to the doctor every two weeks now...oh goody. November 22nd is getting closer and closer and my room in here is getting smaller and smaller...I can't wait to get out of here and stretch my legs. I'm counting the days down on my calendar and I can't wait to meet everyone! Leave me some notes, I'm starting to get a little bored in here.

24 Week Check-Up

Hi all,
So Mom and Dad went to that weird place and tried to have my picture taken yet again. I tried to be a little bit more cooperative but I really don't enjoy getting my picture taken. They found out that I am a healthy little boy, duh, i could have told them that. I am growing quickly and the doc says that I am in the 76th percentile of my weight...thats right, I am going to be a football star. They say that i weigh 1 pound and 9 ounces...next doc's appointment i want to reach 3 pounds...mwahahaha! My mom is doing well and is feeding me some delicious food...she seems to think that I am taking everything that she eats, what can i say? I'm a growing boy.
Anyways, i better get back to growing but I still have everyone pencilled in for November 22nd but remember, that could all change depending on my mood. Love to all!

So apparently I don't have a third arm. Apparently this thing is called a "Penis." As far as I can tell, pretty much useless, although I guess it would be an attached toy for me to play with.
Mom and Dad had a bunch of pictures taken of me and all of my bits and pieces. Um hello, I'm not ready for my close up yet. I will let everybody know when I am, but I don't think I will ever be. I am after all, a Leach Male.

Week 12 Update

Sorry I haven't gotten back to everybody until now, little busy in here, what growing and all. So yesterday, after a delicious breakfast that mommy ate at Panera, we went back to the great white coated lady. I don't think I'm gonna like her very much. Anywho, My parental units found out that I had a heartbeat of 170, um duh, I'm like 12 weeks old, coulda told them that. Im not like a zygote or anything anymore. Anyway, more to come later, I have to go piss mommy off and express my displeasure with her breakfast choice this morning. Later.

Hello All!
I am writing to you from deep within my Mommy's uterus. I am very excited to meet everyone and I am pencilling you in on November 22, 2008. I hope that you are flexible due to the fact that I may have other things planned around then.
As of today, I am about the size of a lemon, but we should know more when Mr. Deville takes my close up on Wed the 14th of May. During this time, he will view and listen to my heartbeat, samply mommy's blood, and some other routine tests to determine if I am behaving or not. I would love to have everyone leave me some notes and I will try to get back to you, although I don't always get the bestest reception in here. Love everyone!
