So Mom has decided that she wants to write a post this week. She says that she wants to start writing me little letters on the blog and saving them so one day, I will be able to read them when I'm all grown up. She is going to do it every month and print them out and put them in my baby book. So for now, I am going to turn it over to my mom!
Dear Jack-man,
Oh my goodness, how much you have changed this month! I can't believe that you are the same little man we brought home from the hospital in November-- only FOUR months ago! You have grown almost seven inches since then and I can't even remember holding you when you were so little!
So much has happened this month--this has definitely been my favorite month so far. You have seriously started to smile and giggle--sometimes a big belly laugh which makes everyone in the room laugh as well. You are really starting to talk and talk and talk as well. You just have so much to say and I love listening to it all. You are becoming such a big little man and you are really starting to act like a boy! You can hardly sit still! You are either kicking your legs or moving your arms or pulling mommy's hair and touching my face. You won't bend your body at all to sit down! You either want to be standing up or laying down. You're becoming so strong and I can't believe that just a month ago you could hardly sit up with assistance! You have started to become so tickilish and I aboslutely love hearing you squeal when the tickle-monster comes out to get you! This next month you will start to eat solid food ( well rice cereal, if you want to call that "solid"). I think that truly ends the "newborn" phase of your life. That makes me have a slight twinge of sadness that you are going up so fast but it makes me so excited to see you with real food. I can't believe my little baby is growing up so fast ( yes, I have tears streaming down my face right now)!
You have really started to lift that (big) head off the ground when you are doing your tummy time-- i know you hate it, but you will thank me for it later i promise! You have also started to play with your hands and feet a lot. You seem to only like to grab your right foot, you haven't quite found out about that left one yet. Perhaps that's because you are left handed and grab your opposite foot ( dad won't be too happy about that, but I would be so glad if you followed in my left handed footsteps)! You have started to actually play with things now. In the past months, if I gave you a toy, you would just stare at it. Now you actually pick it up and play with it and it usually ends up in your mouth. You have definitely discovered a few favorite toys, including Leo the Lion, your red robin and of course your bubbas.
Oh, the drool. I can't possibly think that someone can make so much saliva especially a little baby. Holy cow, we could go through about ten outfits a day if i changed you everytime you soaked your shirt. Where does it all come from?
You have been doing great with your sleep schedules! You go to bed every night around 6:00pm and wake up about once in the night and then sleep until 7! Your nap schedule is still a little crazy but as long as you are sleeping well during the night, then I'm happy.
What can I say? I absolutely love this age. You are the perfect combination of cuddly cute little baby and active, energetic little boy. I love you so much and can't wait to see what next month brings! ( just don't grow up too fast, okay?)
Love,
Mommy
